Self Love through the holidays

The HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!
If you know where this year went, PLEASE let me know! It feels like yesterday we were ringing in the New Year and now we are getting ready to do it all over again.

Self Love is something I teach and preach because I feel it is a skill that has been lost along the way. Although this should be second nature, a lot of us struggle with really listening to our bodies and our souls, ESPECIALLY around the Holidays. Travel, parties, family, shopping, etc - the list goes on of the things that could possibly drain our batteries leaving us BEGGING for a New Years resolution come Jan 1.
Now if you REALLY sit back and think about it - doesn't it all make sense? We live in a culture that has created pure chaos for your schedule, habits, routines, etc right at the end of the year just in time for the New Year to come and for the health/fitness/better-for-you companies to come knocking on your door telling you to pull yourself together and get going for your BEST YEAR YET!?
It all seems a bit too synchronistic to me - and don't get me wrong - I LOVE synchronicities! But what if we flipped the script and decided that yes we will partake in the merriment but also prioritize ourselves throughout the journey?

I invite you to approach this next month a little bit differently than you have in past years. What if you committed to 10 minutes a day of peace and quiet where you allow both your brain and your nervous system to settle down? What if you held your boundaries at family gatherings and allowed your authentic self to shine rather than falling back into old familiar patterns? What if you decided to only imbibe on a few select days and left the booze on the shelf the rest of the month? What if instead of eating ALL of the cookies you shared some with the homeless or wrapped up a plate for your neighbor?
Listen, I get it, sometimes we just get swept up in the magic of the season and all bets are off, but I wonder how this time of year could transform for you if you tried a few small changes in how you approach the Holiday season.
Sending you all of my love!
xx
Sarah
